- Joel A. Nichols was born and raised in Vermont. His stories have recently appeared in Dorm Porn 2 (Alyson), C is for Co-ed (Cleis), Got A Minute (Cleis), and previously in Full Body Contact, Just the Sex, Ultimate Undies, and Sexiest Soles. Stories of his are also scheduled for Travelrotica 2 (Alyson), Fast Balls (Alyson), Distant Horizons (Haworth), G is for Games (Cleis), Sex by the Book: Gay Men's Tales of Lit and Lust (Green Candy Press), and others. He won second place in the Brown Foundation Short Fiction Prize 2005 and was a Fulbright Fellow in Berlin. Joel studied German at Wesleyan University and has a Creative Writing M.A. from Temple University. Did I ever tell you that one of my professors is Ursula K. Le Guin's daughter? She's a lesbian baroque cellist, and very cool.

You must read the Tiptree biography called James Tiptree, Jr.: The Double Life of Alice B. Sheldon by Julie Phillips. The best parts are Tiptree's pen friendships with (among others) Le Guin and Joanna Russ...utterly fascinating & really intense relationships between these artistic powerhouses.
